So i have bought a kit of kingston HyperX ram for my elitebook 840 G5.
It's a 2x16gb kit with a frequency of 2400mhz and CL14 latencies.
Since it's not that expensive, i saw no reason not to get memory with faster timings then what this system has by default (CL17).
The elitebook however doesn't agree. At the first startup after memory installation it boots perfectly normal and works with no problems at all.
At the next restart it starts beeping error codes and won't boot at all. Until i return the stock memory inside.
So it seems to me that at the second restart, BIOS checks the memory timings and decides to say no to CL14 memory.
Is there any way to bypass these startup checks or rise the timings on my kingston hyperX ram?
I have already updated the bios to the latest version.
Thanks.
