End of support for HP ENVY x360 - 15-bp101na , broken hinge and battery, told to buy a new laptop.

Hi,

Terribly frustrating interaction with HP support on the telephone, my 4 year old computer is considered end of life, and no effective support is available.  I need a new battery, and the left hinge has broken away from the back cover of the machine.  

I have seen many posts about these hinges, and am utterly frustrated.  This wasn't a cheap machine, and I'm being told that I can't source parts myself to fix it, and batteries aren't available. I'm in the UK, has anyone got any ideas about where to go from here. 

The machine is still perfectly functional and more than meets my needs still. I find it hard to believe that a machine has such a short functional life cycle.

Replacement parts are available through online parts houses. Particularly the battery but I would not buy a new battery unless I could fix the hinges. In order to fix the hinge it would be necessary to disassemble and evaluate to see what all parts are needed.
