I'm looking to connect my laptop - a HP ENVY13-ab002na, to two displays if possible. On the product spec I see that aside from the HDMI port, there are these USB connections:
2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge)
1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1
I've run recent updates of the BIOS and Windows etc.
Having tried to use a USB C to HDMI adapter, I get a "Display connection might be limited" message and on Device Manager a Billboard Device can be found under USB.
Does anyone know if any of these ports can be used for a connection to another monitor via a HDMI adapter of some sort?
Thanks!

The USB-C is basic: data only. It carries no built in video signal. If you want to use more than one external monitor you need a dock/port replicator with DisplayLink capability. That means it can do video output over a standard USB data connection; either type C or type A. Lots of them on the market but they tend to be a little bigger and more expensive than others. You need something like this in other words:
