Hello once more,

I dont mean to be a pain but I misread the specs on my new adapter. The new one is:

100-240 - 1.7A - 50-60hz - 19.5V - 3.33A - 65W. The old one is:

100-240 - 2.0A - 50-60hz - 19.5V - 6.15A - 120W.

It seems that you said that as long as the old one has higher Amps and Watts I should be able to use  it.

Am I correct?

Thanks for taking the time to answer me.

Cliff

Hi again Cliff,

Yes you are correct you can use the higher wattage ac adapter. W=AxV

So, since the voltage is the same the amp. is going to be higher on the 120W adapter. The notebook will draw the necessary power.

Hope it helps,

David

Did you see some upgrade suggestions I gave in the other thread?

Hope it helps,

David

THIS IS FOR SMART AC ADAPTORS ONLY.

Look on the bottom of the laptop.

Find what is required for the laptop ( Input 19.5V -  6.15A )

Your AC adaptor output should be ( Output 19.5V  -  6.15A )

Voltage  x  Amps = Watts  (VxA=W)

The AC adaptor output can be higher but not lower.

Lower (Watts) will cause the AC adaptor to try and over produce to meet the requirements of the laptop.

This will cause the AC adaptor to overheat and fail.
