Hi @huangcs001,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're replacing your HP Envy x360 15 but want to retain your 32GB memory and 2TB SSD, you'll need to ensure the new laptop supports the same type of memory (likely DDR4 if it's recent) and has an M.2 slot for your SSD. Here are some steps you can take.

  • Check Compatibility: Verify that the memory (RAM) you have (32GB) is compatible with the new laptop's specifications. Most laptops support DDR4 RAM, but it's good to double-check.
  • Storage Compatibility: Ensure the new laptop has an M.2 slot that supports the size (likely 2280 for a 2TB SSD) and interface (SATA or NVMe) of your current SSD.
  • Physical Installation: When you get the new laptop, you'll need to physically transfer the SSD and RAM. This typically involves removing the bottom cover of the laptop (check the manual for instructions) and carefully installing them in their respective slots.
  • Software Considerations: After physically installing the components, you might need to reinstall the operating system (Windows or other OS) if you're not transferring your existing drive with the OS already installed.
  • BIOS Settings: Sometimes, laptops might require BIOS adjustments to recognize new hardware properly. Ensure your BIOS is up to date and configured correctly for the new components.
  • Data Migration: If you're transferring your existing SSD, consider backing up important data and ensuring your files are accessible on the new laptop.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully migrate your 32GB memory and 2TB SSD to a new laptop while ensuring compatibility and functionality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
