Envy X360 needs new charger (Plus fake charger warning!)

Hello,

I recently purchased a second hand HP ENVY x360 - 15-bq150sa, It didn't come with the original charger, the seller included an adapter for an LCD TV and so it wouldn't charge properly.

I found what was thought to be an OEM charger on ebay but it ended up being a fake and I was wondering how I'd go around finding a proper charger for this?  I fear this one will catch fire as it is whining like crazy and screeching along with giving minor zaps by touching the metal housing on the x360.

I've included pictures of the fake charger highlighting bits that show it's a fake incase anybody else ever buys one or suspect they have one. I asked the seller to take the listing down but they don't seem to want to and wish me to return this before getting a refund. The ebay listing ID if of help to HP staff is: [edit]

Commentary

Considering the odd behavior of the seller, were it me, I would open the case on that computer and look inside.  Might be worth taking a look at the components to see exactly what you have purchased.  I admit to being overly conservative / cautious.

I cannot comment on what you find on eBay - useless conjecture.

In general, if you can find the part on a reputable site (ie., Walmat, Amazon), these companies will at least jump on sellers of fake products when they are made aware of the fraud.

Considering the part you have now is sizzling your computer, I would stop using it.  

At the least, you might check with a licensed repair house in your area - see if the Technical staff can order you the part.
