Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

I have noticed a massive battery drain when I shutdown my laptop, put it in my backpack and go home. It takes me about 30 minutes to get home and during that time the battery has gone from 50 % to 0.

This does not happen every time, but when it does, my laptop is much warmer than it would be under normal operation, even though the outside temperature is 0 Celsius.

Bellow you can see the battery report. The times on the last row seem to be incorrect, as I turned my laptop off at around 14:40, though it probably went to sleep around 13:11. In any case a jump from 52 % to 1 % isn't normal in suspended mode

I'll be happy to assist you!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you please help me with the exact model name or the product number and operating system of the computer?

Meanwhile, if you are using Windows let's start by performing a battery test as well as an adapter test to determine any hardware defects using the PC hardware diagnostics. Here are the steps:

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc to get the Startup menu. Now press F2 key.
  3. The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
  4. Select the "Component test" and then select the "battery test" from the list.
  5. Once done, perform an adapter test as well.
  6. Let me know if the test passes or not.

Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04700771 and perform the tests under “Testing and calibrating the battery using HP PC Diagnostics UEFI (preferred method)”. Make sure to do the test for both the battery and the adapter.

If the test passes, perform a battery calibration as well as mentioned under “Manually Calibrating the battery” to resolve the issue.

Hi!

The operating system is Windows 10 Home 64-bit

The model number is HP Enxy x360 15-ds0004no

I did the tests and calibrated the battery. All tests passed but the problem persists.

Last night when I turned off my laptop, I made sure the screen went black, power LED was off and no fans were spinning when I closed the lid.

A few minutes later I heard the fans ramping up and when I went to open my laptop's screen, it was blank. The laptop did not respond to any input and no LED was lit. The fast spinning  fans were the only indication that the laptop was on.

After pressing on the power button for few seconds I was able to turn off the laptop.

Once I booted the laptop again, the cpu temperature was around 70 Celsius and Event Viewer told the last shutdown was unexpected.

Based on your description, it looks like the computer is not shutting down and it may be going to the sleep or hibernation mode and this might be causing the battery drain. Make sure that you shut down the computer if you are not using the computer for a longer duration.

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.
