I need to replace the fan in my hp envy dv7-7243nr. It lists two parts depending on if I have discrete or uma memory. How do I know which I have?

According to the product specs for your notebook which I have attached below, it has the onboard Intel graphics adapter.

 

The onboard Intel graphics adapter uses shared system memory and is otherwise known as Unified Memory Architecture (UMA).

 

The notebooks that came with the Nvidia/Intel switchable graphics adapters would use the fan for the notebooks with discrete graphics memory, because the Nvidia GPU has its own dedicated memory.
