HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0003nl

Like many other customers I've seen, also my laptop hinge has broken after almost 3 years, it is out of warranty.

My question is specifically this: is it correct that the customer should cover the repair costs of this manufacturing defect ?

I have already contacted the correct channels in my area (Italy) and the last message from support is: I apologize for any inconvenience. If we had the capability to initiate a repair process, we would have gladly proceeded on your behalf. if you wish to continue with paid repair kindly inform us, and we will assist you accordingly.

Very disheartening, that they don't either fix it, given the number of people with the same problem, or at the very least, give detailed info on fixing it.  Instead, it always seems to come down to just telling people to bring it in for service, on their own dime.

Hi Alden, your response suggests an already tried intervention as stated in my question and does not answer the specific question - whether or not this manufacturing defect is covered out of warranty?

I would really appreciate an answer here.

Thank you in advance,

Coenraad
