Microsoft Windows 11

For the last few days, my laptop screen keeps glitching out - sometimes it freezes and sometimes it goes black with flickering colored lines arranged in rectangles. The only thing I can do is hold the power button for fifteen seconds to hard shut down. This started after I got home from somewhere and took my laptop out of my backpack and found that it was very hot and wouldn't turn on for several hours. I believe what happened was that it either did not actually go to sleep when I pressed the power button and closed it or it turned itself back on automatically - either way, it seems to have overheated in my backpack. This issue has happened a couple times before even though I have repeatedly confirmed that the computer is set to sleep whenever the lid is closed.

I am concerned that this latest overheating fried some component and led to all these issues. However, I ran the HP hardware diagnostics and it said everything is fine. Is there anything I can do to identify the problem and fix this?

Hi, @Ajbrooklyn see if you can reach out to HP Support. It may most likely be a hardware issue or something that has to do with the motherboard.
