HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ee1000 (2E2L0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have purchased this Envy since like three months ago and have been using it since then almost daily with the power source (adapter) plugged in. Today, after unplugging the adapter, I noticed the battery dropped instantly from 100 to 97%. I did the battery health check and generated a report as well, there didn’t seem to be an issue with the battery. But I assume the battery isn’t supposed to behave this way, and there might be an underlying problem. I really need my laptop be in good functionality for the time being. I hope you could  give me some insights about what might this issue be.
thanks

Hi @Wass2234,

I'm glad to hear that and you're most welcome. I also appreciate your time and patience.

Keep the computer off when, not in use and unplug the charger, and do not keep the charger connected overnight.

Take care and have a great day. Do get back to us in the future for further assistance.

Hi @Wass2234,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

it's normal that battery charge stays at 97%

to improve battery health, so it will last more months or years, avoiding battery swelling, the best solution is to Enter in BIOS setting (F10), search for battery Health Manager, then check Maximize Battery Health.

A charge will always stop at 80% -99%- sometimes.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Dear Elohi_NR, thanks for your reply. I tried to access the bios setting (f10) but couldn’t find the battery management option. It seems it is not available for my pc (I read that hp makes it available for only business devices). However, I am trying to simulate the battery management manually by removing the power source when the battery charges to 100% then letting it drop to below 90% percent before reconnecting the charger. I monitored the behavior of the battery indicator and noticed that the issue happens when I leave the power source connected for long time after the battery reached 100%.  Your diagnosis of this issue was helpful to me. Please recommend me further ways to prolong and improve batteries health  (I have a built in battery, and you know replacing a built in battery-in a short term- feels like a bad scenario).
ps. I apologize for my late follow up, but the notification was redirected to my spam folder.
