Envy x360 15 ee0265ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey,

I have upgraded the RAM of my Envy x360 15 ee0265ng from 8 to 16 GB. I have used Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G32C16S4B.

Everything works fine, except the RAM now runs at 2677 MHz. The original RAM used 3200 MHz. Even though the new RAM also supports 3200 MHz.

Why did the BIOS change the RAM frequency? Is there any possibility to get it back to 3200 MHz. Maybe unlock advanced BIOS settings or anything?

Many thanks!

Greetings

Leon

Hi,

I believe the actual RAM you are using only reaches 3200MHz with XMP which is not available in your notebook.

The base clock for that RAM is 2666MHz. Maybe you could replace them.

Hope it helps,

David

Hey Iomare,

thanks! Yes, you were right. The RAM only supported 3200 MHz with an XMP profile and only at 1.35 Volts.

I switched to another RAM which supports 3200 MHz at 1.2 Volts and has the right frequency programmed into it's SPD.
Even the faster timings of the new RAM are supported.
