HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0007AU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I am currently using this Envy x360 2019 (13-ar0007AU) which contains Ryzen 3700u, 8 Gb of ram, and 512 Gb of SSD. However, ever since I have been using this laptop, the shared VRAM  at 2Gb out of 8 Gb is quite excessive on the non-gaming laptop. I have to close most of my programs because of 6Gb only available RAM in this machine. Moreover, I am using Docker which required a minimum of 2 Gb RAM along with my web development programs and it often shows not sufficient system memory prompt.

So, I would like to have a request to reduce the shared VRAM to 1 Gb, so that I can make use of addition 1 Gb, please.

PS. Since dynamic VRAM is automatically allocated, and able to increase if the GPU required, so I think that reserving only 256 Mb of RAM for GPU is enough, and it is a better way not to waste over 1Gb of Ram waiting to be (rarely) used by GPU.

#1 PIC: RAM usage while using 8 tabs of Chrome.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

VRAM can't be changed, as it may render the device unstable, and HP does not recommend the same.

Advanced BIOS is locked though you could make changes to the page file though.

Hope this helps.

As I have searched so far it seems that 2018 envy was using 1 GB of Ram as VRAM. And, my friends' laptop with AMD Ryzen uses only 512mb of ram and both works fine. I just want to use the most of my ram.

Let's try a BIOS update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Let me know if this helps.

Nope, it doesn't help. Still using 2 of out 8 Gb for Vega iGPU.

Hence, there are no solution to this problem. Maybe next time HP offers 16 gb variant of envy x360 in Thailand. I'll consider HP again. Thanks
