Touchpad is acting erratically: sometimes lagging, sometimes not, not moving the cursor at all, sometime moving the cursor around by itself, not allowing items to be selected, sometimes selecting items when I have not touched it, etc. I have had this problem multiple times in the past and each time had to send the PC to the HP Repair Center while I was still under warranty. I think they replaced this Touchpad multiple times. Now, I am out of warranty and will have to try to fix it myself. I think the best course of action would be to simply replace the touchpad but I do not know the right part number to order for my model (15T-cu000 CTO; 3BC54AV#ABA) without cracking open the laptop. Any ideas which part number I should order OR does anyone else have any other ideas on what I should do? What about a newer, upgraded touchpad that would work better than the one it keeps getting replaced with? Thanks for any input you can provide.

Hi @RLRichie,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that this is Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have the option to schedule a repair/replacement touchpad.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, it's a good idea to contact HP support or visit an authorized service center for assistance.
