I encountered an error message on my laptop upon turning it on. The message indicated that the cooling fan was not functioning properly. To address this, I promptly powered off the laptop and left it idle for a few hours. Upon restarting it, the laptop seemed to operate as usual. However, I'm still concerned about the functionality of the cooling fan.
Due to the noisy environment I'm in, I'm unable to audibly perceive the fan's operation. I attempted to assess the fan speed using the software found at [content removed], but it displayed a reading of 0 rpm. Feedback from various forums suggests that this software might be unreliable, which led me to seek assistance here.
I'm seeking guidance on how to determine if my laptop's cooling fan is operating correctly. Specifically, I'd like to know if there's a certain rpm threshold at which the fan should spin or if it's supposed to run continuously. Additionally, considering the warm climate I'm in, it's challenging for me to gauge whether the laptop's temperature is within the expected range. My primary concern is preventing any potential harm to my laptop due to overheating. I'm uncertain whether I should consult a technician for further assistance. Your advice would be greatly appreciated in helping me decide if professional intervention is necessary to ensure my system's well-being.
Current temperature of laptop is : 59C

The fan is a three pin one connector, one of which is a sense connection.
59C is an OK temperature.
You may need to have the fan(s) cleaned or replaced to get rid of the Error 90b message.
You can check the fan speed by using the SpeedFan 4.52 utility.

Thank you for replying erico .
I opened the bios and turned the fan always on - Enabled. Now I can hear the fan running still the software shows 0 rpm but I can feel the fan is working fine.
Also since there's no error and I can hear the fan is working fine there's no need to replace/repair it .
Should I turn this feature off or let it stay as this?

Personally I would not have the Fan always on enabled, so yes turn it off.
It would unnecessarily use battery storage capacity when you are using the battery instead of the power adapter.
