Hello again Jerry.

I’m trying to install Win 11 through Windows update on my HP, i.e. Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update

Win 11 version 25H2 is listed there as an update (since Win 10 is no longer supported).

Hi @Gixxerik,

Thank you for your response.

Could you kindly share an image of the Windows Update screen that shows the upgrade path from Windows 10 to Windows 11? This will help us clearly confirm the update details.

Hello Jerry.
Here comes a picture from Windows update. After the latest Win 11 attempts I have an error code here. This code wasn't present before (0xa8024a205).

Also for information, I have ca 47 GB of free disc space.

I'm thinking another attempt could be to unintall all present drivers associated to Intel Smart Sound Technology (if it doesn't cause subsequent errors in Win 11), or alternatively try to find and install a lower version of Win 11 then 25H2.

Hi @Gixxerik,

Thank you for your response.

It is an older version of Windows 11.

Kindly install the latest version of Windows 11 from the media creation tool:

Download Windows 11

Do let us know how it goes.

Hello again Jerry. 🙂

I followed your link and the installation went well in the beginning. When checking for updates during the later part of installation it got stuck for a long time at 46 %.  After that the same error message as before showed up:
Win11_Onsdag.PNG

When I rolled back the installation the following error code showed up:

Win11_Onsdag_Error_Code.PNG

Also, I noticed that the Win 11 link referred to the same 25H2 version as my Window Update was trying to install.

Here are some additional information.

The Win installation reached 100 % without errors. The error came up in the next step when checking for updates during the final process.

And when I'm checking device manager I have the following audio drivers:

Thank you for your response.

The Error states that your computer is currently incompatible with the version of Windows 11.

It is a compatibility issue with the driver Intel IntcOED.sys driver (Versions 10.24.02863, 10.24.0.3316, 10.24.0.3488, 10.24.0.3633, 10.24.0.3694, 10.24.0.3851, 10.24.0.3950).

Why is it so, and how do I solve these issues?

When I'm checking Windows support if my device is ready for Win 11, the PC Health check up states my computer fulfil all requirements for Win 11. And still the update isn't working.

And also, non of the listed driver versions in the error message are installed in my computer.

Thank you for sharing the details.

There is only an issue with audio driver compatiblity issue.

We request that you wait for the latest Audio driver version.

Hello again Jerry 🙂

Some final follow up questions:

  • Who will supply the audio driver update, HP or Microsoft?
  • When in time can I expect an audio driver update which solve the Win 11 issues?
  • Which type of driver should I look for, Ice Lake, Comet Lake or other?
  • Is it realistic to wait for a new audio driver, since I have the “latest” ones (dated 2020) acc. to Device Manager and Win 10 is no longer supported

Edit:

I did a HP Operating System Check and there were no issues found at all whatsoever.

And regarding Audio Drivers, when I Goggle my processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz it’s said to belong to the Ice Lake architecture, if that affects  anything.

Conclusion: It really sucks to having this error, since both Windows Update and PC Health Check states my HP is ready for and fulfil all Win 11 requirements
