Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In the last 10 years I bought and used it intensively an 840 G3 and a 840 G4 with i5 without any problems.

Now I have buy a new 15-dw0053nl with i7 processor and I have several problems.

1)  Excessive fan noise  also setting on Windows the Minimun processor state to 5% since to be always at max freq and the fan noise is always high.   I have last bios, last drivers and last Windows update. I would like to know if this pc can work with lid closed because I often use external monitor and external keyboard.
2) No automatic boot after power lost, I need to open every morning the lidto power on the pc. In the previous hp pc it was in the setup the function to auto boot after power lost.
3) No video output on USB-C only data available on this interface, I have lost 15 euro to buy a HDMI adapter.

I might be able to help with the fan noise... can you check Task Manager, sort by CPU usage, and tell me what apps come to the top?

Thanks,

All of that seems to be normal. It appears that Windows Security is running a scan, and in my experience that makes a good amount of fan noise when it is running. Are the fans too loud all of the time?

There's a couple of possible solutions. First, try opening Control Panel, and go to System and Security, then Power Options. Change your power plan to "Balanced" if it is set on High Performance. If it still is loud, do the same, but when you get to Power Options click Advanced Settings. From there, expand Processor Power Management, then System Cooling Policy, and change both On Battery and Plugged In to Passive.

There's one more solution, but it takes more work and could damage your PC, so we'll leave that as a last resort.
