This is a brand new laptop and the fan noise is excessively loud, it often even starts up in the middle of the night when the laptop is in sleep mode and hasn't been used for hours and also when doing low impact tasks such as using office products. I've noticed a lot of the time it coincides with the system and intel optane memory tasks in the task manager, but as soon as the CPU goes above 10-15% it sounds like a jet engine and is very awkward when I'm trying to use the laptop in the library. Sometimes unplugging the laptop stops those processes and the laptop quietens down a bit but not always. I've checked for bios updates and there aren't any, but there seems to be no quiet fan option, it always goes really loudly and it's so frustrating. I've looked for solutions on this forum and haven't found any that work for me yet, please help! I bought this laptop because my last HP 360 had similar issues with the fan (but that was after two years of ownership) and now this new one is much worse.

Can this be looked in a more serious manner?
This issue has nothing to do with any fan cleaning or any updates.
The fan just never stops at full rpm from out of the box. It is unbearable
I am experiencing the same issue for pavilion 14-ce3520na with i7 10th gen.
This gotta be a design flaw.
Please dont respond with any generic suggestions.

Welcome to HP support community.
Run Extensive system test to check for hardware failures.
1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.
5. Click Run once, or Loop until error. While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are shown on the screen.
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.'
Cheers.
