HP Notebook 15-be016TU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently I have installed a new WD 240 GB SSD on my HP Notebook in place of existing HDD and installed the existing HDD in place of DVD writer with help of Caddy.

If I boot the laptop alone with SSD the its working fine. But if I attach the HDD as well then its not booting and giving error. In BIOS, boot option also its showing only the old HDD and no option to select new SSD as boot device.

If I run storage device testing using F2 then able to find both SSD and HDD and on test both disk are not showing any error.

Could you please help me to get a solution for this.

Dear @Shaily03

Do you have windows installed on the HDD?

If yes, format the HDD.

To do this, press the F9 key several times when starting the laptop, enter the Boot Menu and select the SSD for booting. Enter windows and there look for the disk to format.

- if I can help solve your question or issue, please click on ACCEPT AS SOLUTION or click the YES button if my answer was helpful.

Windows always boots from the Boot Manager. (NVRam)
In the Boot Options the DVD is probably on the 1st place.
In BIOS (F10) you can change that. Move the SSD to No.1

In (F9) you select "Windows Boot Manager"

You can delete the Boot Partition on the Caddy HDD by diskpart.
