My laptop died and I would like to access data from its drives. There are two hts721010g9sa00 SATA drives inside. Where can I find an external enclosure for them, so that I can connect them to my new laptop?
The connector has vertical flat contacts, while regular external enclosures expect pins. Any recommendations?

Its exactly as I suspected, The metal pins are part of an adapter piece which goes over the standard SATA interface on the hard drive, You must remove the hard drive from the carrier (sled) and take off the adapter/connector piece covering the SATA connectors and then you can put the hard drive inside the external enclosure.

You can find them on computer shops everywhere, they can be from few dollars to around 20 dollars. They are 2.5" external enclosures. For example

@banhien, I thought so too. I've purchased this enclosure:
Vantec NexStar TX 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JQNXZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_rYQNT79mXhTVK
But it did not have proper connector. It seems to me that the format of the internal SATA drive connector is different and I am not sure what it is called, or how to specify exactly what the enclosure should support.
Thanks.

Please post pictures. I am guessing you internal hard drive is still in a sled of some sort and you have not stripped it down to the basic drive. The SATA to USB adapter should have the right connector for a 2.5 inch SATA HDD.

Here is the link to the picture of the drive with the connector inside the laptop in the background. Is there a better picture I can take?
