I've been using Hp 15q-ds1001TU core i5 8th generation laptop since past few months. It's already having 8GB DDR4 internal ram.
I would like to increase it's ram to 16 GB.But I'm unaware of the fact whether it has an external ram slot or not.Is it possible to increase it's ram.If so then what is the maximum ram can it be increased to?

Hi,
Max RAM for your notebook is 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB
At the moment you have one 8GB module and one empty slot. So you could add another 8GB module in the empty slot for a total of 16GB
Ex:
https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15q-ds1001tu#memory
On page 42 of service manual you can see how to install the RAM

You should also consider replacing the Hard Drive or adding an SSD which would give a great boost to the performance of the notebook.
Hope it helps,
David
