Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I bought an HP 15-ef2126wm for son. It came with a 256gb nvme ssd, I was wondering if it is possible to add a second ssd such as a 2.5 ssd for extra storage to his laptop as the 256gb ran out pretty fast.

thank you

I'm not finding that Model number 15-ef2126wm, lets try the Product ID number found on the label on the bottom of the laptop.

Product ID 4J771UA#ABA Here's your Manuals page- https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15.6-inch-laptop-pc-15-e2000/2100372089/model/2100376551/man...

If you look at the Service Manual from the link above, you'll see on page 23 a parts list for 2.5" drives, part number L22526-001 is the cable you'll need. Also need the harddrive cover part L22534-001. You probably don't have those parts, if it shipped with no 2nd drive they don't include those parts.

Depending on your needs, if it's just for photos music or movies, say, you can get a mechanical hdd with 4 times the room as a ssd for the same price.

The manual will show you the steps involved with installing a second drive, and if you have more questions, just post here.
