Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Brand new EliteBook 840 G4, the F4,F5,F6 keys not working. The functions can be operated via the display settings but not the keyboard,

Hold down the Fn key then tap the function for it to work.

 

The action keys are probably disabled in the BIOS.

 

Enter the BIOS. In Advanced  tab under system options  enable launch hotkeys without function keypress

Enabling the launch hotkeys without function keypress did exactly that, but didn't enable the fn keys that were not working.

 

Solved by loading HP hotkey support driver sp84797.exe from support.hp.com ,
