Hi @HARDCORE_31,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be glad to help you.

To install or update the fingerprint driver on your HP PC running Windows 11, follow these steps:

Option 1: Download the Driver from HP Support (Recommended):

  1. Go to the Official HP® Support.

  2. Enter your HP product name, serial number, or product number.

  3. Select your operating system (Windows 11).

  4. Expand Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices or Driver - Security.

  5. Download the fingerprint sensor driver (such as Goodix, Synaptics, or ELAN, depending on your model).

  6. Run the downloaded file as Administrator and follow the on-screen instructions.

  7. Restart the computer after installation is complete.

Option 2: Update Through Device Manager:

  1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager.

  2. Expand Biometric Devices.

  3. Right-click the fingerprint reader and select Update Driver.

  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

  5. If the device is not working correctly, select Uninstall Device, restart the PC, and allow Windows to reinstall the hardware.

Verify Windows Biometric Service:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

  2. Locate Windows Biometric Service.

  3. Ensure the service is set to Automatic and is currently running.

Set Up Fingerprint Sign-In:

After installing the driver:

  1. Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.

  2. Select Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello).

  3. Click Set up and follow the prompts to enrol your fingerprint.

If the fingerprint option is missing or the biometric device does not appear in Device Manager, please let us know your HP product model so we can provide model-specific guidance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day! 😊

I'm an HP Employee.
