A few days ago, I got an HP Pavilion 600 Keyboard. This could have been the best keyboard I've ever had, it has just the right feel of the keys I've been looking for for the longest time, but the lack of any way to lock the function keys is a serious detriment to the product and should not be a problem on any keyboard model. Today I realized the keyboard had this problem, and I spent hours searching for a workaround prior to making this post. The only reasonable solution I found is flawed and only half-works. Contrary to claims made by one review of the keyboard I found on this site, there really is no simple app or program that allows for a quick and easy fix for FN toggle.
Not having an FN lock function might not seem like a big deal at first, but for people who use programs that require consistent use of the function keys (such as video games with F5 and F9 for quicksave and load), the ability to lock the function keys seriously reduces work efficiency. I really don't see any reason to do away with the feature, any keyboard with multimedia functions paired onto the function keys MUST have a way to lock them. Until I see a similar model with FN toggle, I'll keep an eye out for other brands.

Thank you for joining the HP Community
As this is a wireless keyboard, am afraid that we do not have an option to turn on/off the Function key.
Hope this helps you!

I understand that your current wireless keyboards do not have function keys. I'm suggesting that a new model be created that is similar to the current one, just with fn lock as a feature. Or, if this is not possible for some reason, at least an application that allows for the function.
Also, I don't understand why just because the keyboard is wireless means that having an fn lock feature is unfeasible, if that is what you meant. I've Googled the issue and, although I couldn't find any evidence of wireless keyboards with a working, built-in fn lock feature, I could not find evidence that suggests that this is not possible. I've found that Logitech has a software download that allows for the reassigning of their own wireless keyboards' multimedia keys to other keystrokes.
I don't see how a built-in fn lock feature is not possible. Although if making it built-in really isn't possible, it shouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to create a small app that can perform the function instead.
