Common problems for Battery

Pavilion dv7-6b78us
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop shows charging up to a certain percentage and then stops charging.  It will eventually shut itself down.  If I disconnect the power supply, it will immediately shut down no matter how much of a charge the battery has.

I suspect I need a new battery and/or a new power supply.

I ran a diagnostic test and both failed.  The battery gave me a Failure ID code 60DX1G-61G944-QFPK01-C0DB13.

I have shut down and removed the battery and then put back in.  Still get the same results.

Can someone tell me if I need a new battery or power supply or both?

6-cell, 55-WHr, 2.55-AHr, LI 593554-001

The 9 cell runs longer but bulges out below the laptop to give it a slant when placed flat on a table.

If the laptop can run on the AC adapter with the battery removed then it is not the AC adapter. You need a new battery. Where do you live (country), and we can help you find one.
