Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Lately I have been having issues with my disk reaching up to 90%-100% in task manager. It is affecting my performance tremendously throughout every application I open.

I performed a Hard Drive diagnostic test, and it gave me a failure ID code to contact HP support:

PU7L5T-96RBA5-XD7W3G-60S803

Hi:

Below is the failure report generated by the code you posted, minus your PC's serial number.

Failure Information
Failure ID Tag Checksum HP Serial Number Test Date Failure Code Device Includes Error Message
PU7L5T-96RBA5-XD7W3G-60S803OK0000011/21/22303StorageFloppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape DriveHard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure

You will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

If you can still get into Windows, back up any files you need to save onto a portable hard drive before replacing the drive.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider two options:

1. Replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" SATA solid state drive (SSD).

2. Replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a much better performing M.2 NVMe SSD, since your HP15-da0023ne notebook comes with a M.2 SSD slot according to the manual.

After you replace the drive, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool with another PC running W7 64 bit or newer and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

Since you have to install the recovery tool on another PC, after you launch it, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window to proceed.

Your notebook's product number is:  4PS83EA#ABV

Hello again,

I wanted to ask if there is any other way other than replacing the hard disk, or is it not possible?

Thanks again in advance,

You're very welcome.

There's no other way to fix the problem that I know of.
