Would buying a windows 11 installer USB get it booted up? That’s all I’m trying to do right now.

You don't need to buy anything because your notebook has a Windows product key in the BIOS.

It would be a waste of $100 to buy a W11 USB installation flash drive.

You can make your own plain W11 USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft Media creation tool at the link below (2nd option).  You will need an 8 GB USB flash drive for that.

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

Boot from the installation media and install Windows 11.

To boot from the USB flash drive, have it plugged into your notebook's USB port, turn on or restart the notebook.

Immediately tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

After W11 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Sadly don’t have a second computer to do this. But to be clear buying a windows 11 usb would install it? Because I’ve seen some for 20$ and I will have to buy a flash drive anyways.

HP Recommended

Yes, that would work.
