HP Pavilion x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I am having this problem with my HP Pavilion x360 which I've had for about three years.

Suddenly its fan just begun making a very loud noise. It sounds as if it is overworking for no reason at all. I already checked my computer's temperature and it is not overheating.

Curious thing is that when it starts making that noise, if I just let it be, the fan eventually stops moving and starts again. If I tap it a couple of times, the noise stops and the fan keeps running like normal.

I already cleaned the vent by using canned air and nothing is obstructing it. The noise is so loud it is as if the blades are about to break into pieces and it even slowls down, just to start again like normal.

Is there something I can do to fix it or do I have to replace the fan?

Thank you so much in advance.

Hi,

Most likely you will need to replace the fan since when you tap it the noise stops. Usually it is not a very expensive or complicated procedure. If you provide the complete model or product number of the PC I can show you how it is done. Here is link to HP support page showing how to find the model or product number:

Let me know,
