HP EliteBook 1040 14 inch G9 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

Hi!

I'm searching for a way to control the fan speed of my Elitebook 1040 G9 with i5-1235U.

The thermal profile appears to be far too aggressive as the fans spin up to ~80% even when idling. Especially when connected to AC power.

Of course there may be reasons for that (background processes, battery charging, power profile, etc). But the temps are continuously below 60°C, far below any level that would require high amounts of cooling.

I found out that possibly the Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology is responsible for this, and that there is a tool available to OEMs to adjust those settings. Sadly, no adjustments to the Intel DTT toggles in UEFI or Windows available to the user appear to have any effect on the thermal profile.

My question is: Is there a way for the user or admin to adjust the thermal / fan speed settings of the laptop? If not, could this be made available through a tool or update to available software?

Much appreciated!
