Hello!
So to say, it was a very tough day for me.
New HP laptop for my dad arrived today, and I had an easy job to do - install all the essential software and drivers. Everything was going ok, I’ve installed all drivers from HP download section and downloaded the Windows updates. Windows itself also did the job - it installed Rev. 0.8A BIOS Update, which totally broke the laptop! System fan stopped working (error 90b), CPU is running very hot and I hear weird beeping from inside most of the time. This laptop arrived today, and after couple hours of simple maintanence it isn’t working! Worst part is that it was bought especially for work here and now - and if i won’t find any solution, it’s going to take weeks to get this piece of hardware repaired.
Sometimes, fans go on for a while, but they stop after few moments and it’s all the same again.
Looking forward for some serious help

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
This error indicates that a problem exists related to the heat removal system. One of two possible events is occurring:
-
The system fan is not spinning or not spinning properly.
-
The temperature inside the case is too high and the fan cannot spin fast enough to remove the heat.
To fix this error, use the following steps:
-
If you notice that the system fan spins and is blowing warm air from the computer, clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Do this while the computer is off. Dust can accumulate inside the vent opening and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat. After dust has been removed, try turning on the computer to see if the error goes away. If not, continue to the next step.
For more information on reducing heat inside your computer, see Reducing Heat Inside the PC.
-
Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again — even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service. For information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.
-
In some cases, updating the BIOS may help prevent this error from occurring. For information on how to update your BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting back.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.
While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.
Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
