I was experiencing heating problems with my 18 days old HP Victus 15. I thought that I had a badly applied thermal paste. It turns out, that the fans do not start spinning even at 80°C and by the time they start spinning, the temps cross 90°C. They also stay at a low rpm all the time with the auto mode selected. I have to select the max speed mode manually.
I have tried the following:
Reinstalling HP Omen Gaming Hub
Updating all the drivers (they were up to date)
Checking thermal related settings in the BIOS (didn't find anything)
Resetting the power plan
Selecting different modes in the Omen Gaming Hub
Running a hardware diagnostic program(it didn't find any problem with the thermals or the CPU fan)
