Greetings,
I have encountered a problem with my newly-purchased laptop - it runs normally when unplugged, but when I plug in the charger, the laptop fans start running and don't stop ever, unless I unplug the cord. The computer is not overheating, the processor works at normal temperatures, but the fans just still keep running constantly. It is very annoying, as it makes a lot of unnecessary noise. First thing I have tried was obviously changing my power options, where I set everything to be the same when plugged and unplugged, but the problem still persists. Does anyone have experience with something similar? I have no idea what to do with this anymore, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Firstly, let's run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Next: Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean
Notebook computers have vents in the bottom and sides to remove heat, allowing air to flow through the case. If the vents become blocked, the fan cannot cool the components properly (and must spin even faster). For more information see Reducing Heat Inside the PC
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Greetings,
thanks for your answer, but the steps you provided were actually the first things that I have tried - no luck, though. I installed the newest BIOS update, but it didn't change anything. The problem persists only when plugged into the power source, so keeping the vents clear cannot possibly resolve it - I keep the laptop in the same position and the fans are quiet, but they start running when I plug in the power cord. Also, to answer your questions - I ran some updates in the meantime, of course, but this problem has been around since I bought the computer brand new 3 weeks ago, so that cannot be the issue.
