Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I work from home on a remote desktop connection listening to the fan all day every day. I don't mind a very slow CPU but the fan is distracting. It sounds like a jet engine. I've tried:

- Setting HP command centre to quiet (not good enough)

- Notebook FanControl app, SpeedFan app (no effect)

- Setting windows power profile to 'passive'

I'd like to work without wearing ear plugs. Please help!

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
