Product: HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 (537Z9AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My HP ENVY17 laptop left hand hinge has cracked making it difficult to open and shut the laptop. Just now, the bottom edge of the screen has begun to crack.  I understand from the retailer that this is a common problem with HP laptops.

HP Recommended

Some models are more prone to this than others.  Depending on the age and model, possibly HP can repair it even if out of warranty.  I asked a moderator to look into this.

It might be useful to lubricate the hinge as I suspect that caused the problem.
This discussion is about using a toothpick to lubricate a MacBook hinge.
