The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05792853
It supports DUAL storage with M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD + 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD. It has 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive now. You can simply add 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD to your machine such as
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/t500/ct1000t500ssd8/ct24662875 (it won't run full speed) or
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/t500/ct2000t500ssd8/ct24668680 (it won't run full speed) or
https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/nvme-ssd/970-evo-plus-nvme-m-2-ssd-1tb-mz-v7s1t0bw/
Then make M.2 SSD drive as boot drive, keep old HDD for storage.
Regards.

thanks Banhien,
The specs on my laptop are alittle different than the one listed here. I noticed that when i looked closer. This is what it says on my computer: HP ENVY Laptop 17m-ae1xx
Are the above specs still the same with that model?
Also, Why does it say in parenthesis (it wont run full speed)?
I have another question when you say to keep the old drive as storage. I am not very familiar with the process. i thought i would open the laptop and switch out the old one for the new one. How would i keep both?
