Fingerprint reader not showing in device manager

In my laptop fingerprint scanner is not showing in Device manager. Even the Biometrics devices category is not showing in the device manager. Hence I'm not able to setup fingerprint scanner on my Windows 11 machine.

Update the example plate

If your Device Manager does not include the Biometric devices section and / or a listing in that section for the fingerprint sensor, then:  Your computer does not have the fingerprint sensor installed.

What?

The fingerprint sensor is optional -- it is not pre-installed in all models.

NOTE: The fingerprint reader cable is available in the Cable Kit as spare part number
M23765-001. The fingerprint reader bracket is available in the Bracket Kit as spare part number
M21715-001. The fingerprint reader insert (for use on models without a fingerprint reader) is
available in the Plastics Kit as spare part number M23767-001.
