After upgrading to Windows 10, Simple Pass was uninstalled, as non-compatible software. Validity Sensor does not show in Device Manager. Instead, I have an unknown device.
I need help to figure out correct driver and software version to install.

Kayn

Hi, Kayn:
There are no W8/8.1 or W10 drivers for the validity fingerprint sensor hardware version your notebook has.
The only suggestion I can offer would be that you will have to use the W7 fingerprint driver from your notebook's support page.
Manually install the driver if the auto install method doesn't work.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45217.exe
Then see if the W10 simplepass software allows you to log on with your fingerprint.

Hi, Paul!
I now have Validity Sensor in device manager, instead of the unknown device. Driver version is 2.1.0.2.
Simple Pass has been installed successfully, but I cannot enter fingerprints. The software gave me the option to use Windows password as the vault password.
I still cannot have the fingerprints scanned.

Kayn

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with why you can't enroll your fingerprint.
Probably due to the fact that your notebook's validity fingerprint sensor hardware is so outdated, that there aren't even any W8/8.1 drivers for it.

Unfortunately not.
I already checked the hardware ID your notebook's validity fingerprint sensor has.
It is this one...USB\VID_138A&PID_0001
4.5.235 does not contain any driver files that have driver support for the above hardware ID.
Of course, feel free to run the driver if you want.
The worst case scenario is it won't install.
