Omnibook X

Hi everyone, I just bought a new Omnibook X and I started the first time update. But the update has been on progress for more than one hour. And now there is only the HP logo on the screen and I try pressing Enter or ESC but nothing happens.

Please help me if you know anything wrong with it!

Force shutdown and power-cycle

  • Hold the power button for 10–15 seconds until the laptop fully powers off.
  • Unplug the charger and leave it off for ~30 seconds.
  • Press and hold power button for 30sec. Now do this 2 more times.
  • Plug the charger back in and power on normally.

Sometimes the system will resume the update or boot into Windows after this.

Thank you, I tried and my laptop runs normally again.

However, my laptop keeps noticing that there are required updates and when I clicked update and restart, it keeps showing “System updates are underway, please keep your device on and plugged in”. I left it plugged in there but it has been more than 30 mins. Is this normal?

If it's more than 1 hr then force shutdown again like I told you earlier and then do that update manually using Microsoft catalog. You can see which update it is in windows update that failed or causing this.
