Dear supporters,

I accidentally forgot my bios password and power-on password. Now, I have only fingerprint to access my device.

Please help me remove bios password.

Thank you so much

Regards,

Hi,

I'd completely agree with @Huffer

There are no 3rd party tools that will work for this Model, no Backdoor or halt code.

The best option would be to Contact HP Business support - they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.  The only alternative to requesting a smc from Business Support would be to replace the bios chip.  You can contact HP Business Support in your country via

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

or

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Just to note, if you do intend to go the HP route, don't try removing the rtc battery.  It won't remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as smc files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the smc will cause it to fail.

Zbook 15 G3 has very stringent security....have you set up a fingerprint scan to access power on/BIOS or just Windows?

HP Recommended

Yes, I had a power-on fingerprint

HP Recommended

And BIOS? You should be able to get in and change password using the fingerprint to validate the changes.

HP Recommended

only power-on fingerprint. Bios login does not have fingerprint option, only password is acceptable

Well the security on the mobile workstations is very stringent. I am not aware of any backdoor passwords. Maybe someone else like maybe @DavidPK can help better or confirm what I suspect???

Thank you all. I contacted to HP support center and they required me a order bill which I did not have. May be I should try to remember my password.
