The bottom left corner of my screen frame is suddenly cracked. I've never dropped my laptop. I just noticed this a week ago and it seems to be getting worse. It is not the screen itself, but the black plastic around it. Each time I open it, it seems to be separating even more. It is the HP Laptop 15-gw0xxx

It might be useful to lubricate the hinge as I suspect that caused the problem.

This discussion is about using a toothpick to lubricate a MacBook hinge

Or just do a general search

Hi, thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I don't think that lubricating the hinge will help at this point. The frame has pulled away from the screen so much at this point. I'm trying to keep the screen open as much as possible so that I don't make it any worse.

Even if out of warranty you can pester them and get it fixed.  I got surface pro 4 fixed 2 years out of warranty.
