@Goktug00, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Freezing issues after a RAM upgrade can stem from several causes, even if the specs match. Let’s go through a few steps to help resolve this:
Confirm RAM Compatibility
Even if the MHz and specs match, not all RAM modules are fully compatible with every system.
- Ensure the new RAM is DDR4-3200 MHz SODIMM, non-ECC, and unbuffered.
Reseat the RAM
Improper seating can cause intermittent freezes.
- Power off the laptop and unplug it.
- Remove the back cover and carefully reseat both RAM sticks.
- Ensure they click into place evenly.
Run HP Diagnostics
Use HP's built-in diagnostics to test the memory:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Run the Memory Test. If errors are found, one of the modules may be faulty.
Test with Original RAM
Try reinstalling the original 16GB RAM:
- If the system runs stable again, the issue likely lies with the new RAM (either compatibility or a defective module).
BIOS Update
Sometimes a BIOS update improves memory compatibility.
- Visit the HP Support Page for Victus 16-d1xxx and check for the latest BIOS version.
- Follow HP instructions carefully to update.
Check for Background Conflicts
Freezes can also be caused by software conflicts:
- Boot into Safe Mode and observe if the issue persists.
- If stable in Safe Mode, consider disabling startup apps or performing a clean boot.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
