I have installed an ExpressCard USB 3 controller to my notebook and set up drivers from it's CD (FLUSB3.0-3.5.18.0.exe). The drivers were not able to start (device manager sayed code 10).But the device manager sayed that the controller is Fresco Logic xHCI (USB3).
So I downloaded FLUSB3.0-3.8.33709.0.exe from https://support.frescologic.com/portal/home and installed it.
The new driver works fine when nothing is connected to the controller's USB ports.
When I connect anything to USB, the controller disappears from windows' device manager.
No power is provided via the USB (when I connect a mouse, it does not light).
The device id is PCI\VEN_1B73&DEV_1100&SUBSYS_11001B73&REV_10
Similar issue is in Fresco Logic FAQ, and they recommend to provide an external power, but my controller does not have a socket for external pover supply. Moreover, it also diasppears when I insert a short usb cable with unconnected other end! An emty cable cannot require a large power...
Help, please!
