HP Recommended

The keyboard F9 (not F5) did the the three level backlight initially, but now the key tests ok as working eg as F9 in hardware tests.  But now the backlight key does nothing.  I have rolled back from bios 1.07 - 1.11 and wind 10 21H2 to Win 11 22H2 and there is no change.  There is no backlight option in bios advanced devices for timing or anything. Its as if the device no longer exists.  Initial support line call was unable to solve.  

 

It has taken hours and slightly flaky web support interfaces to try all the bios and system versions and even manual SW pak installs.  

 

Note in key dot lights work eg power key or audio keys and capslock etc.  typing is fine, just not good in dark conditions (disabled in bed and often work in low light at night if that's a good time)

 

Any Ideas based on documented facts for the Fury G8 15.6 ?  No hardware test for backlight seems to be available.

 

Has anyone else had this and solved it. Any Help Appreciated!!!  Thanks for reading .
