g4 USB C dock
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a home office with an HP g4 USB C dock to go with my work Elite Book.  I also have a Microsoft Surface Book.  Is there a way to patch that through my dock.  Looking for the easiest way to not need two seperate docks.

Neither HP nor Microsoft is going to specifically tell you anything about cross-compatibility as both want to sell you their dock.

All I can say that might help is that I have used HP laptops with Lenovo USB-C and Thunderbolt docks and vice versa without issue. It cannot hurt to test it out and try hooking the Surface Book to the dock. Now if you mean can you plug both laptops into one dock I have never tried that and would not recommend it. One laptop connected to the dock at a time.

I wouldn't connect both at once, just one or the other alternatively.  No USB C output from the surface book though.  Big question is how to push surface book through dock.  Outputs are USB 3, mini display port and hdmi
