HP USB-C Dock G5
Microsoft Windows 11

The Envy x360 has one USB-C port. After restarting, startup, and waking up from sleep mode, it recognizes only one external monitor instead of two. I always have to disconnect and reconnect the USB-C from the laptop one or more times in order for it to recognize both monitors. I'm trying to prevent that. I've already updated the firmware for the G5, including my laptop firmware. It said online that it was compatible with my laptop before purchasing it.

The model number is HP 15-ds1010wm w/ AMD Ryzen 5 4500U Six-Core Processor.

The G5 Dock model is 5CG432Z3ZH.

External Monitors are ACER Nitro XZ2 Series WQHD connected by the Display port to the G5.

I can not find its official specs

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/product/product-specs/hp-envy-15-ds1000-x360-convertible-laptop-pc-seri...

From page 2 of its manual, it ONLY has a hopeless USB 3.1 Type-C Gen. 1 port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

It is NOT compatible with any USB-C docks including HP USB-C G5 dock.  If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Other option: Using USB-A dock such as   https://support.hp.com/ph-en/product/details/usb-hubs/model/5256507

HP USB-C/A dock may work, unfortunately I have not tested it.

Regards.
