I have 2 sticks of ram in my laptop 2x4 for 8 gigs. The sticks say 1600mhz on them. My computer has them set to only run at 800mhz. How can I turn the speed up?

Install the free HW Info utility from the link below. I use the portable version.
Free Download HWiNFO Sofware | Installer & Portable for Windows, DOS
When you run the utility, a summary page will open.
If the report indicates the memory is running in dual channel mode, then you have to multiply the 800 MHz by 2 to get the 1600 MHz speed.
In single channel mode the memory runs at 800 MHz.
Some older AMD chipsets only support running the memory in single channel mode even with matching memory capacities in each slot.
