I have a G8 Firefly with a G5 USB-C dock deployed to a user thee laptop is not charging from that dock. I have plugged in other laptops windows and mac and the dock charges. I have updated the docks firmware to 1.0.15 using SP139699. I have tested the laptop with cheap third party docks and it charges fine off of them. The only thing I can come up with is that there must be some sort of registry block on this computer. I have this same setup deployed to the rest of my user base and we are not seeing any problems. I am hoping someone has run into this before and has a solution

The G8 Firefly notebook is marked by HP as being compatible with the HP USB-C Dock G5.
The issue would not be at the registry level. It would be a firmware issue.
I suggest updating the BIOS of the G8 Firefly notebok to see if it resolves the issue.
A reset of the notebook's (EC) embedded controller chip would also be a good idea.
Do you have the dock connected to the USB-C Thunderbolt port?
That is a requisite.
From the marketing information of the HP USB-C Dock G5 :
"For USB-C® functionality, host PC must support the DisplayPort™ Alt mode protocol through its USB-C® port. Thunderbolt™-enabled notebooks will function at USB-C® speeds. Charging and port replication is supported on notebooks that have implemented USB-C® industry specifications."
