HP ZBook Fury 17.3 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC (4N4X7AV)

I have noticed that certain keys on my keyboard stop working for no apparent reason. Then they will start working again. The enter key above the shift, the comma, period, back slash, quote. If I run the keyboard test it shows it as a problem.

The unit is still under warranty but it is a ship to HP warranty. So, I wonder:

- How do you protect data when sending it back?

- If it's intermittent, will they replace items? How do we know it's fixed?

I was wondering if it is just easy enough to try a new keyboard? I tried some compressed air, but that hasn't resolved it. Maybe if I open it up and try more thoroughly? I am concerned it is not the keyboard, but the controller or something else perhaps overheating.

I have also considered an HP Care Pack with onsite service. But when I click the link from HP Support Assistant it gives me a multitude of options and prices. What happens if I pick a 'wrong' one?

I know, lots of questions but thanks for any comments.

P.S. The onscreen keyboard works fine. USB keyboards work fine. The numeric keypad works fine.
