You are equating video memory with the strength of the video card. Your game play is laggy because the graphics processor is slow not because it uses too little memory. So you have confirmed you really do have a 2 gig video card?

The Radeon 520 is a very low end video card not much better than integrated graphics:

Fortnite can apparently be run on pretty low end hardware but recommended hardware is fairly high end:

Recommended System Requirements:

  • Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 equivalent DX11 GPU
  • 2 GB VRAM
  • Core i5 2.8 Ghz
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Windows 7/8/10 64-bit

I understand you would like to increase system reserved Video RAM in BIOS.

HP Pc’s uses a customized BIOS setting (Tattooed BIOS) of which some features including overclocking and increasing the VRAM are locked.

This is done in the best interest of safeguarding the PC for the optimal performance and not to cause any extensive component failure.

To conclude, the VRAM on your PC is already shared with a specific value and it's locked and cannot be changed.

Hope the information shared will help you. Please share for more.

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

This doesn't make sense at all. i paid for a gpu with 2gb not 512mb and i want to use it.

After the recent updates Windows 10 GPU monitoring is very glitchy. Try a 3rd party app like GPU-Z and see what it shows.

I am sure you have a 2 gig video card and are able to use the full 2 gigs video memory, theoretically. You will not actually use that much except under extreme load.

Hi i tried what you told me with the game i play the most (fortnite) and the results are:

if i set everything to low quality, to achieve a more fps, the gpu uses only ~ 500mb, but it's still laggy.

if i set everything at max quality, the gpu uses ~ 1500mb, and ofc it's still laggy.

i want my to use more memory (not only 1/4 of the total) with low quality options to achieve more fps, could you help me please?
